JIM JOE will present a group of new paintings at COOPER COLE in collaboration with The Hole, NYC. The artist (who is so reclusive he barley exists) will present a group of large paintings, executed entirely with black oil sticks on canvas, that merge his ham-fisted style, his subtle wit, and his symbolic and emotional communication abilities the artist has developed inside his head and honed for a clean room or a gallery.
JIM JOE has exhibited at The Hole, Agnes b. Galerie du Jour, and Lower Manhattan.
According to the artist:
DUG DEEP FOR SHADOW INTERIOR
CAME BACK WITH DARK EXTERIOR
SIGNS OF THE TIMES
SYMBOL OF A CLOCK
THANK YOU FOR COMING
AND DONT FORGET 2 LEAVE
