Todd James

Todd James (b. 1969, New York, USA) is a self-taught, internationally recognized artist who began his career as a child in the New York City subway system. He is a co-creator of the seminal Street Market exhibition at Deitch Projects in New York, which was selected for the Venice Biennale in 2001. He has exhibited his work worldwide, at galleries such as Tate Liverpool Biennale, Liverpool; Union Gallery, London, UK; Alice Gallery, Brussels, Belgium; Galería Javier López, Madrid, Spain; Monster Children, Camperdown, Australia; Colette, Paris, France; V1 Gallery, Copenhagen, Denmark; The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, Los Angeles; Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn; Orange Country Museum of Art, Newport Beach; Contemporary Museum, Baltimore; and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia, USA. James currently lives and works in New York, USA.
