Scott Treleaven (b. 1972, Canada) Canadian artist known for his fin-de-siècle inspired paintings, photographs and drawings, as well as his contributions to the queercore movement – notably two films and the zine, This is the Salivation Army (1996-1999).
Solo exhibitions include: Unit 17, Vancouver (forthcoming); Cooper Cole, Toronto; Invisible-Exports, New York; The Suburban, Milwaukee; The Breeder, Athens; and John Connelly Presents, New York. Group exhibitions have been held at the Brooklyn Museum; Vancouver Art Gallery; XYZ Collective, Tokyo; MOCA Tucson; 80WSE, New York; Contemporary Arts Museum Houston; ICA Philadelphia; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; ICA London; and Artists Space, New York. Treleaven’s zines are featured in historical overviews such as Copy Machine Manifestos: Artists Who Make Zines (Phaidon/Brooklyn Museum 2023); Showboat: Punk, Sex, Bodies (Dashwood 2016); and In Numbers: Serial Publications by Artists Since 1955 (JRP/Ringier 2009). Treleaven currently lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
