Olivia Dunbar (b. 1988, Vancouver, Canada) received an MFA from the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam, Netherlands and a BFA Simon Fraser University, Vancouver. Working across diverse media, Dunbar’s studio practice is context based and develops formal strategies such as replacement to navigate the when and why of identification. She has exhibited her work at c-o-m-p-o-s-i-t-e, Brussels, Belgium; and SALTS, Basel, Switzerland. Dunbar currently lives and works in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
