Derya Akay

Derya Akay (b. 1988, Istanbul, Turkey) received his BFA from Emily Carr University of Art & Design, Vancouver, Canada in 2010. He had solo exhibitions at Kunstverein Toronto; Centre A, The Apartment, Vancouver, Canada; Terasaki Gallery, Kofu-shi, Japan, and has participated in group exhibitions at Gardiner Museum, Toronto; SFU Gallery, Burnaby; and Access Gallery, Gallery 44, Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver, Canada; Hayaka Arti, Istanbul, Turkey. He was awarded a 2016 Portfolio Prize and shortlisted for the 2015 RBC Emerging Artist People’s Choice Award. Akay lives in and works out of Vancouver, Canada.
