Alicia McCarthy (b. 1969, USA) received a BFA from San Francisco Art Institute in 1994 and an MFA from the University of California at Berkeley in 2007. McCarthy has exhibited across America and internationally, and will be exhibiting at SFMoMa in the spring. McCarthy has received the SECA Award as well as numerous accolades and residencies, most notably from Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Maine, Headland Arts Center and New Langton Art, San Francisco. Recent solo and two-person shows include exhibitions at Jack Hanley Gallery, Pierogi, Grey Art Gallery, New York; Johansson Projects, The Oakland Museum of California Art, Oakland; Chandran Gallery, Walter and McBean Galleries, San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco; EN EM Art Space, Sacramento, USA; V1 Gallery, Copenhagen, Denmark. McCarthy lives and works in Oakland, California, USA.
