Charles Gute

Charles Gute (b. 1962, Titusville, USA) received his BFA from the University of Arizona, Tucson in 1984 and his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco, USA in 1987. Gute has participated in numerous group shows at venues including Catharine Clark Gallery, New Langton Arts, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Fransisco; Christopher Grimes Gallery, Santa Monica; and the UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, USA. Gute’s work has been written about in Frieze, ARTnews, Flash Art, Art+Auction, Artforum, NY Arts and The Art Newspaper. He has also created original artist’s projects for a number of publications including Fillip Review, Art Lies, stretcher.org, Useless and Private Circulation. In the summer of 2009, he presented a new large-scale outdoor work at Socrates Sculpture Park in New York, USA. Gute currently lives and works in Brooklyn, USA.
